We have a number of young designers in our studio who are focused on this collection, creating all of the pieces from recycled materials. This is a specific way of looking at clothes, so it was important to have designers who are passionate about working with them. From All Quiet on the Western Front to 1917, Dunkirk to Saving Private Ryan, explosive, sweeping epics about World War I and II have long been known for winning Oscars—and now, it looks like Academy Award winner Steve McQueen’s latest drama, High Flying Blitz, is about to do the same.

Yes, I surrounded myself with some people from the fashion world. For some of them, it was their first time working in a garment department. We put together a team of stylists, embroiderers, textile designers, young fashion creators… The starting point of this collection was written in the script. We knew we had to create a full collection with only recycled materials and tell a story with it. Doppel is a radical new brand that hates everything that the fashion world represents today, but still remembers the history of fashion and creators like Martin Margiela. There is a strong message: stop wasting fashion and consume better. The idea was to combine these shiny, competing luxury houses with used fabrics, all on a single item. We created fabrics and metal pieces to represent these brands and created patchwork and jewelry pieces.
